May already over

Goodbye to this beautiful month….I have had a very very good month and this last weekend was out of this world! ๐Ÿ˜€ย

Saturday 30th is to be remembered as the day on which I was turned into a butterfly-fairy. But I did not do the magic. ๐Ÿ˜€ Three lovely ladies did: G, A and U! ๐Ÿ˜› Thank you so much, so very much for everything!

It was simply awesome. ๐Ÿ™‚ย

Lots of love and Big Hugs!

Women talk talk talk…

Numerous times I have heard guys complain that women *talk*. They talk too much. All the time. Right?

They are right of course. Women always have stuffs to say to each other. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am not going to dwell on the contents of their conversations. They vary oh-so-much! So, basically here what I am trying to say is that women has a need to talk. ๐Ÿ™‚ย Specially about their feelings and all the possible issues that are related to those feelings.

So here is my *advice* to those guys:

Guys, when your mum, your sister or your girlfriend is talking to you (and you get the feeling that they are talking too much), may be you should just *listen* to them. Just listening is most of the time enough! Amazing, uh? ๐Ÿ˜›

When we come and complain (at length) to you, it is just because we need you to lend us an ear. Also, when a girl is expressing her feelings about her problems, she will not rate the significance of any problem. Like me for example, when I am upset, I am upset about it all, big and small. When I talk about my problems to somebody, I am not immediately looking for solutions. It is like I find relief by just expressing it all out and has the feeling that I am being understood by the other party. ๐Ÿ™‚ and most girls, I’m sure, feel the same!ย

So please, just listen. It helps. ๐Ÿ™‚

My Birthday

In my world today, we are celebrating my birthday. 23 years ago, I came into this world kicking and screaming! ๐Ÿ˜›ย

Throughout the path from that crying baby to a still growing woman, I wish to thank God for giving me a beautiful life and hope that He will continue to do so.

Then of course, my parents for their continous support and for simply being there for me. My mum specially for keeping me like a princess and my dad, whose actions speak much louder than his words. My thanks for my brothers too…the eldest, for always being my strongest support, the second for always being there to answer my questions, the third who I will always miss and the little one, for always nagging me! ๐Ÿ˜›

Warmest thanks to all those friends I have made during that time, from primary to university to work, who in one way or the other has contributed to my ‘life experiences’! ๐Ÿ˜› love you all! ๐Ÿ˜€

Now I wish you all good things on this beautiful and special day!

Have fun!!!!!

Happiness and Love

Happiness and love are not mutually exclusive! More often than not, people associate love with ultimate happiness. Why? why do they leave their happiness in someone else’s hands? Can’t we be happy all on our own?

Or is it just a flow that we all tend to follow, something we have come to believe despite ourselves?

The If-I-find-love-I-will-be-happy theory.ย

I do admit that if you have been lucky enough to have found someone who loves/cares deeply for you, it adds flavor to your general happiness. ๐Ÿ™‚ but then again, if you are lucky enough…

But, what if you ain’t that lucky? are you going to sulk your life away? Don’t! There is more to this life than the quest for true love. There is the real chance of being happy, for instance. ๐Ÿ˜‰ If you open yourself up a little, you might find happiness in the smallest things around you (this may sound like a cliche, but it is absolutely true!).ย

So I say, believe that you can be happy. All on your own. It depends entirely on you. ๐Ÿ˜€ย

***You can lay your love on someone else, but not your happiness.***

I was watching ‘pride and prejudice’ just the other day and one thought has stayed with me ever since. As right now I have nothing to do, I just thought of sharing it with you…;)

Basically it is this: Gentlemen don’t exist anymore, at the very least, they are rare. I am not talking about the Jane Austen kind of gentleman. Those have disappeared from the surface of this earth a very long time ago. ย But really, guys ain’t chivalrous, kind or ‘gentlemanly’ anymore.

How many guys still open the door for a lady? hold their hand when they are stepping out of a vehicle? hold a girl’s heavy laptop bag? pay for her drink? give his place up for her in the bus? or at least ask if she would like to sit? or small cute things like that?ย

In my opinion, there is a big confusion on equality of rights and opportunities. Guys say girls asked for it: that women be treated the same as men. True, we do wish to be treated *fairly* but that does not mean we should forget the differences between us that make us who we are. You are men, and we are women. Different. But same. As humans. ๐Ÿ™‚ย

To come back on the gentleman thing, I think it is a big loss that society now does not possess ย such men. In the rush rush of this new world… *Big Sigh*

I for one would have loved to see them be like those portrayed by Jane Austen. If only a little.

Time Heals?

Does time heal all wounds? I mean those emotional wounds, the ones that leave us feeling so down, so bruised and out of ourselves? those wounds we think we can never heal from? but then one day, you wake up and you realise that you are okay? that gradually, things have started to look up again?

How does it happen? Do the wounds really heal?

I think there is another way to look at it. Time does not really cure the pain. Time only has a way of making you move forward. It is impossible for us, mere humans, to turn back time. What has happened, has. No way for anyone of us to change it. What we can only do is either make it better or worse. We can only affect our future. A future we cannot be certain of, full of mysteries and even the best laid plans sometimes end up quite differently from what we expect. Time, from its nature shows us what it has in store for us. We’ve been hurt, we feel all sort of bad things. But somehow, time will make it good again. It does not erase the pain, but it gives you the opportunity to make it stop. As time goes on, you discover new things. You meet new people, who can alter your life in ways you never imagined. Time allows you to do things you never thought you could or would do. Time gives us the future. Time is also the past of course. But only in terms of memories. Unchangeable. Memories on which you can reflect so as not to do the same mistakes again, so that you can be better and not bring harm to yourself.ย

We also categorise memories as good and bad ones. Don’t you still feel the pain when you think back on those instances when you’ve been hurt or something bad happened to you? If you are healed, why is the pain still there? why do the tears still threaten to spill? why does this big lump still form in your throat?ย

So no, time does not heal. It just drives you forward. To live. To be. Despite Everything.

***On n’oublie jamais rien. On vit avec.***

Football in Mauritius

Mauritians are as passionate about football as they are about politics. Football is famous from the old people to the youngest, from boys to girls! Everybody has a word to say about their favorite team. Everybody is so fervent when there is a hot match coming up!

All that is good and highly enjoyable.

However, there is one thing I find kind of sad. All this excitement is geared towards foreign countries’ football teams! I really wished that we can get so full and heated up about teams in our own country. To go to the stadiums to watch a live football match. To have that same spirit rising in the crowd. People wearing their teams’ colors to show support! To cry and shout, to jump with joy when your team scores, to get angry and dissapointed when you lose! To have skilled and remarkable players! To have a national league worth following!ย

Wouldn’t that be just awesome? *sigh*

I really cannot understand why we cannot have this here! The Government invests enough in Sports, doesn’t it? Or is it just that Mauritians ain’t good football players? I don’t want to believe that! ๐Ÿ˜ฆย

And yeah, Go ManU!!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

This Beautiful Month of May

Oh May is finally here! It is without any doubt my favorite month of the year, especially the 27th! ๐Ÿ˜› I’m sure there is no need to say why!

Some information about May:

Gemstone:ย Emeraldย
Flower:ย Lilly of the Valley

“May is named after the Greek goddess, Maia. The month is a time of great celebrations in the northern hemisphere. It is the time when flowers emerge and crops begin to sprout.”

“First thing in the morning on May 1st, young girls used to rush out into the garden to wash their faces in the May dew. There is an old tale that says that May dew has magic properties and that anyone who has washed their face in it will have a beautiful complexion all through the year. This dew was supposed to be able to remove freckles and also spots and pimples.”ย ย {Ain’t that cute? ๐Ÿ˜› May Dews are magical}

On this, I wish you all a very happy month of May! ^-^
